Our facilitator on each trip leads the expedition and is responsible for all the details of the journey and the well-being of the travelers. He or she is specialized in group facilitation and will act as the “bridge between worlds” for the visitor and site visited. Our facilitators are trained in methodologies of engagement such as the Art of Hosting, Appreciative Inquiry and Living with Nature.
Author of Your Money or Your Life. She has done several speaking tours in Brazil and has a deep love for the this country and its people. Born in Oklahoma in 1945, Vicki grew up on Long Island and graduated cum laude from Brown University in 1967. She has received awards from Co-op America and Sustainable Northwest for her pioneering work on sustainable living. A&E Entertainment’s show “Biography” recently honored Vicki as one of "The 10 Most Exceptional Citizens of Seattle." In addition to writing and speaking, she enjoys singing, dancing, swimming, hosting conversations and engaging in the rich creative life of her community.
Marina is an entrepreneur of Circulah, which works with Experiential Education. She is a group facilitator experienced in the Living with Nature methodology and techniques of promoting dialogue and conversation. She is part of the Art of Hosting network in Brazil and acts as a consultant for projects at the Eco-Space Foundation. Furthermore, she is a co-founder of the Brazilian Association for Living with Nature and an educator at the Physis Institute for Culture and the Environment. She also develops projects on the human relationship to nature with indigenous communities, traditional populations and conservation units in Brazil. Marina graduated with a degree in Tourism and specializes in rural and ecotourism at Senac-São Paulo.
Floriana is a visual artist who has developed projects that poetically articulate the interdependence between Art and the Environment and the need for sustainability. In 2004, she co-founded the EIA (Immersive Environmental Experience) Collective. Together with the group called "The Sustainables", they disseminate and incorporate socio-environmental practices and issues through playful process, strategies of direct action and community mobilization. Floriana studied Design for Sustainability Education from Gaia at the Free University of Environment and Culture of Peace in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. She has also transformed her apartment into a laboratory of sustainable practices and technologies in the urban environment.
Henrique has been a consulting member for the EcoSocial Institute. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He also received a degree from ADIGO in Art Therapy and Anthroposophy. Henrique has 12 years experience in the design and conduct of processes of change & development with companies, entrepreneurs and eco-organizations. He has worked and trained in countries such as Germany, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, the United States and Mexico. Also worked for organizations such as AIESEC, and HLCA. Participated in the foundation of Pioneers of Change and the Spawning Program run by the EcoSocial Institute. Founder and mentor of the Kahu Nahlu School for young athletes.
Karina graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of São Paulo. She is a Professor of Biology and a collaborator of NAPS. In addition, she has worked on a study through the enterprise Vale do Betary and conducts research in the field. Since 2007, Karina has been an Educator of the Living with Nature methodology at the Roma Institute. Moreover, she is a practitioner of the Art of Hosting methodology.
